OPERATIONAL PURCHASER

Role:

In your role as operational buyer, you work with planning and purchasing materials that make the business run. You manage and analyze short-term purchasing needs to ensure that production can flow without friction.

We work on a team basis where each operational buyer is responsible for an assigned category and optimizes that flow through system analysis and close contact with our suppliers.

The work includes ensuring that the supplier acknowledges the order, keeping the business system updated related to any changes (identifying, managing, and preventing short and long-term material shortages from suppliers). Monitor supplier performance (OTD, lead time, collaboration) and escalate in situations of unsatisfactory supplier performance.

Related administrative tasks are handling of invoices etc.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Purchase on daily basis based on needs in ERP system.
  • Order management including but not limited to expediting, tracking, updating and processing order confirmations.
  • Collaborate with the Production Team to develop and maintain production schedules and plans.
  • Maintain parameters on part numbers such as order quantity and safety stock.
  • Update lead times and prices together with Strategic Purchaser.
  • Identify and mitigate potential bottlenecks or delays in the supply chain.
  • Postpone and advance orders if necessary.
  • Ensure supply continuity by monitoring availability and order fulfilment (OTIF).
  • Check and certify received invoices.
  • Participate in recurring follow-up meetings with suppliers.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with the suppliers through open, clear and concise communication.
  • Assist with day-to-day Purchasing administration and provide support to the Purchasing Team by working closely with both internal colleagues and Suppliers.
  • Close cooperation with the Head of Strategic Sourcing & Procurement.

 

Requirements:

  • Education: Gymnasium/Secondary education. Post-secondary education like a bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience from operative purchasing or similar with ERP system is a credit.
  • Polish and English in writing and speaking at a communicative level.
  • Good at MS Office package.
  • Knowledge & Skills: You have good administrative skills, are structured and meticulous, while possessing logical and analytical skills. You understand the importance of achieving results, meeting deadlines, and ensuring high quality in your work.
  • Personal qualities: Operational buyers need to be good communicators and relationship builders to get both internal and external key stakeholders to pull in the same direction. Responsiveness to needs, flexibility, ability to cooperate and a problem-solving attitude are personal qualities that are highly valued.
