Chief Accountant in Manufacturing Company with Scandinavian culture | Full-time position (On-site role with flexibility for occasional remote work).

A dynamically growing manufacturing company, part of an international capital group, is looking for an experienced professional for the position of Chief Accountant, who will take full responsibility for the company’s financial and accounting area.

CHIEF ACCOUNTANT

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining full statutory accounting records in accordance with applicable regulations (70 employees)
  • Active participation in the entire accounting process, including:
    • posting and booking of purchase and sales invoices,
    • verification of accounting documents,
    • supervision over proper document flow,
    • execution and control of bank payments in accordance with internal authorization rules,
    • recognition of fixed assets and putting them into use, including supervision of fixed asset register and depreciation.
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow).
  • Preparation of the annual statutory financial statements along with supporting documentation. Filing statements in National Court Register.
  • Reporting to the Group in accordance with the Group reporting calendar and internal deadlines.
  • Reconciliation of accounts, month-end and year-end closing processes, and ensuring accuracy of accounting records.
  • Contact with the Tax Office and other external institutions, including:
    • preparation and submission of tax returns (VAT, CIT, JPK),
    • responding to official inquiries,
    • applying for tax refunds (in particular VAT refunds),
    • representing the company during tax audits and inspections.
  • Active participation in external/internal financial audits – preparation of documentation, cooperation with auditors, and explanation of discrepancies.
  • Close cooperation with the Factory Director in Poland, Finance and Control Manager from the Branch in Sweden.
  • Close cooperation with the Production Controller responsible for production settlement and cost calculation.
  • Monitoring receivables and payables and overseeing financial liquidity.
  • Preparation of internal financial reports and analyses for management purposes.
  • Development and updating of accounting policies and internal procedures.
  • Monitoring changes in accounting and tax regulations and implementing them within the organization.
  • Close cooperation with production, purchasing, sales, and management teams in financial and operational matters.
  • Managing a small accounting team.

 

Our requirements:

  • Higher education in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting, including at least 3 years in a similar position.
  • Experience in cooperation with auditors and external institutions.
  • Accounting experience in a manufacturing company is preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Accounting Act and current tax regulations.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Very good English at a level that allows for comfortable business communication.
  • Independence, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, and responsibility.
  • Analytical thinking and the ability to work in an environment of dynamic change.
  • Proactivity and a focus on process improvement.
