For our Business Partner, a Finnish boat manufacturer and one of the fastest-growing, recognizable brands in the world’s boating industry, offering versatile, affordable, and innovative boats to a global audience, sold in over 50 countries worldwide, we are looking for a candidate for the position of:

 NPI Material Project Manager / NPI & Project Buyer

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the supplier selection process from day 1 in R&D projects in cooperation with sourcing end engineering.
  • Preparers comprehensive supplier RFQ covering all the angles of supplier selection process.
  • Creates materials project plans for R&D projects and acts as project core team member. Leads the NPI sourcing work package from day one to ramp-up and final handshake own factories and external partiers.
  • Defines price targets for materials and products in cooperation with Product Business Management.
  • Develops and fosters “should costing” methodology for materials and products.
  • Runs the materials review process item by item regularly within project and timely reports progress, gaps, and any deviations vs. targets. Plans the supplier capacity for new items to match the desired volumes for ramp-up and volume phase.
  • Safeguards successful ramp-ups of new products from materials management point of view.
  • Close cooperation with the Head of Strategic Sourcing & Procurement and General Manager.

 

Key performance indicaors (KPIs):

  • Timely and qualitatively prepared materials project plans for R&D project milestones.
  • Product Pricing target and realization transparency
  • Ramp-up capability and readiness vs. the materials project plans and main project plan.
  • Successful volume deliveries with 1st time correct suppliers and prices.

 

Requirements:

  • Education: Master’s or bachelor’s degree or similar.
  • Candidates with experience as a Senior Operational Purchaser or Junior Strategic Purchaser are welcome.
  • Proven track record in sourcing and materials project management from relevant industry with mature serial production or roll-out business environment – is an additional asset.
  • Combined engineering / commercial background preferred.
  • Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, Solid project planning skills, Holistic material management skills, High autonomy level in legal language with contracting process, Strong personal skills to challenge status quo for improvements, Excellent and persuasive communication skills,   Ability to maintain a positive attitude and stay motivated under pressure.
  • ERP systems experience
  • PDM system and structural understanding.
  • Data analytics/processing skills
  • Should cost methods understanding
  • Strong leadership skills to lead in front and take the leadership role.
  • High lead project planning and management skills.
  • Materials management hands on.
