SENIOR STRATEGIC PURCHASER – new Factory

Role description:

As a strategic buyer, you are responsible for optimizing our purchasing process and ensuring that the company achieves its strategic goals and profitability. You play an important role in managing and developing our supplier relationships, identifying cost savings, improving the quality and efficiency of the purchasing process and contributing to increasing the company’s competitiveness.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic planning :

Develop and implement an overall strategy for purchasing based on the company’s goals and needs.

Identify and analyse market trends, competitors and potential suppliers to maintain a competitive position.

Collaborate with other departments, such as production, logistics and finance, to ensure coordination and efficiency in the purchasing process.

  • Supplier relations and negotiations (Poland, Sweden, Türkiye and Lithuania (mainly Poland, contact with suppliers mainly by e-mail, by phone and several visits a year):

Responsible for evaluating, selecting and managing suppliers to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain.

Negotiate agreements and terms with suppliers to ensure the best possible price, quality and delivery time.

Evaluate suppliers’ performance and conduct regular follow-ups to ensure agreed quality and delivery.

  • Cost – and risk management :

Identify opportunities for cost savings by analysing market trends, negotiating price changes and improving processes.

Develop and implement strategies to reduce procurement-related risks, such as delivery delays, quality issues and price volatility.

Monitor and analyse market prices and competitor activities to anticipate and manage price fluctuations.

  • Purchasing process and collaboration :

Responsible for improving and streamlining the procurement process by implementing best practices and using digital tools and systems.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify needs, specify requirements and ensure purchasing decisions are aligned with business needs. Create and maintain reports and analyses related to purchasing activities to provide insights and inform decision making.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position in a manufacturing company.
  • Relevant university education in economics, logistics, supply chain or similar field.
  • Experience of strategic purchasing and supplier management in a similar role.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving oriented ability.
  • Good business understanding and knowledge of market trends and competitors.
  • Experience working with purchasing systems and digital tools.
  • Team-oriented and ability to collaborate with different stakeholders.
  • Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
  • Results oriented,
  • Willingness to develop in an environment where changes and improvements are a natural part of everyday work.

  • Remuneration depends on knowledge, experience and qualifications.
  • Hybrid work (1-2 days a week) + trips to Sweden (at least the first year must be in Gävle for 3-5 days per quarter) – to be agreed/flexible.
